Aranui community campus consultation

Posted on: No Comments

The Aranui Community Leadership Group (ACLG) is currently consulting on the new Aranui community campus. The ACLG is seeking views from the wider Aranui community on the organisation of the campus, and the facilities and services it will provide. This includes the types of schooling would best suit the community – e.g. a Year 1-13 school or a junior/middle/senior model, special education, and inclusion of a bilingual unit or Kura. Consultation runs until the end of December 2013.

To date the ACLG has:

  • carried out a number of workshops with key stakeholders, advisory boards and the wider Aranui community
  • held consultations at Aranui High School, Aranui Primary School, Avondale Primary School and Wainoni Primary School
  • held a Community Forum at Aranui High School.

The ACLG has engaged Chris Mene to facilitate the community consultation process. Chris is working with the ACLG to organise meetings and workshops with stakeholders and advisory groups. Chris is widely experienced in stakeholder engagement and facilitation, and brings wealth of knowledge to the process. More information about the work the ACLG is doing is available on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/awachch
